The Reckoning

Many generations ago, mankind destroyed itself. Those that survived were genetically altered humans. Over the generations, these alterations produced several different races and cultures.

Creatures

Below is an incomplete list of creatures you are likely to find roaming about. As information is documented by travelers who successfully survive a beast, this list will grow. Be mindful of where you go, not all creatures are friendly.

Amphisbaena - Little is know about this creature, other than stay away from it.

Ant Swarm - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, there are dozens more around.

Ape Man - Genetic regression experiments resulted in an aggressive humaniod that only understands rage and violence. Stay clear.

Basilisk - Before the Reckoning, genetic experiments created several modified creatures, as well as resurrected extinct creatures thought to be only a legend, or myth. If you see one, well, close your eyes and say good bye.

Bats - One of the most diverse creatures on the planet, these new breed of bats survived and thrived in the new world. How did they survive, by becoming an apex predator.

Bear - Thick hide, claws, and strength to spare. These beasts were originally tamed and used on the battle field. Since then, they have returned to the wild, but with a savage attitude.

Berserker - These creatures origins are from the failed experiments in genetic engineering. They are mad, vicious, and blood thirsty. If you see one, well, it was nice knowing you.

Black Dragon - When magic began to grow, it awakened beasts who had slumbered for millennia. Not much is know about the dragons who roam the skies, except you should run and hide.

Boar - The boar has always been a survivor. Bad attitude and the fierceness to back it up. Feeding on other mutated animals has affected the boar in very bad ways. Bigger, badder, and even more attitude.

Centaur - Mixing technology and science, and a sprinkle of mad science and you can create anything. Before the time of the Reckoning, failed experiments were common place. Many broke free and survived.

Centipede - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, there are dozens more around.

Devil Spawn - When magic began to grow, it awakened monsters who had not been seen for millennia. Not much is know about the devils, except you should run.

Dragon Fly - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, good bye.

Eater - No one knows the origin of this beast, what is known is there are rarely any survivors.

Fire Dragon - When magic began to grow, it awakened beasts who had slumbered for millennia. Not much is know about the dragons who roam the skies, except you should run and hide.

Giant Beetle - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, death is close behind.

Giant Mantis - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, you are on the menu.

Giant Wolf - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types. Many apex predators adapted to the new environment.

Horned Demon - Not ever genetic mutation worked out. These demon like creatures grew mad, and in time, grew blood thirsty.

Kendo Knight -

Killer Bees - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, who am I kidding, you never see just one.

Killer Spider - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. Many species exist, each more deadly than the last. If you see one, it's already to late.

Killer Turtle - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types. Many reptiles died out, but not all.

Knight -

Lizardman - Another failed genetic experiment, these creatures live off the flesh and fear of anyone they find. If you see one, they make pretty cool ponchos. But that's only if you survive.

Mafioso -

Mecha Spider - Technology was adapted to assist in pollination when more crops ere needed to feed the war machines. They of course escaped and when the Reckoning happened, they evolved.

Minotaur - Legends tell of this mythical beast. Turns out, they were no myth.

Minotaur Master - Some mythical beasts have taken advantage of the chaos the humans made of this world. Those who were a bit smarter or stronger of course became the rulers.

Mutant Wasps - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types. Some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, just run.

Mutated Snail - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. Don't disturb these large tough creatures as they tend to be grumpy.

Oger - Some genetic experiments  were successful. Some not so much.

Raptor - Apex predators have always adapted. As man made other creatures stronger, so did mother nature.

Red Devil - When magic began to grow, it awakened monsters who had not been seen for millennia. Not much is know about the devils, except you should run.

Reen - Mixing technology and science, and a sprinkle of mad science and you can create anything. Before the time of the Reckoning, failed experiments were common place. Many broke free and survived.

Scorpion - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types, some insects grew to grotesque sizes. If you see one, good luck.

Shark - Dangerous before the Reckoning, even more so now.

Shroom Monster - Magic or experiement, no one knows. But this is not the good kind.

Smoke Dragon - When magic began to grow, it awakened beasts who had slumbered for millennia. Not much is know about the dragons who roam the skies, except you should run and hide.

Specter - Magic gone bad. Some creatures were overtaken by the power that they gained. Looking more like a nightmare than something you see during the day, if you see one, pray you wake up.

Troglodytes - An offshoot from a group of mutated humans, these men think everything and everyone is food.

Troll - While few bridges survived the Reckoning, no one is sure where they originated. Only that you should avoid them.

Troll Master -

Troll Warrior - These trolls have ventured away from their bridges in search for war.

Viper - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types. Many apex predators adapted to the new environment.

Void - It doesn't stare back, it just consumes you. Just run.

Werewolf - Legends tell of this mythical beast. Turns out, they were no myth. Or so it is said. Maybe this was another genetic experiment gone wrong. Maybe.

Witch - When magic began to grow, some were taken over by it. They became sadistic and power hungry. Run. Just Run.

Worm - In the time of the Reckoning, chemical warfare produced genetic mutations of all types. The soil in many areas were poisoned and many creatures adapted.

Yeti -

Zealot - When magic began to grow, zealots sacrificed themselves to learn as much as they could. It took it's toll. Be weary if you see one.

Zombie - An offshoot of a group of mutated humans, these creatures live off rage and death.
